No, it is NOT a contest or anything, Im just curious to hear other stories of course library exploration.
I got to thinking - there probably isnt even a single person who has played ALL courses available for Links 2003, right? Or maybe some of you have? Even anywhere close to it? Even half? I was primarily thinking of an actual full round on each course, but I guess regardless of playing method too.
I bet there were some people back when Links was more popular who had played all of them, but I would be surprised if anyone has kept that up until this day - though who knows.
Personally, I think I've played a full round on about 300 courses, which I think of as a whole lot, but ultimately is downright laughable when you compare to how many there actually are.... like... I dont even know, 2500 or so? I guess it depends a bit on how you count. I would like to think that I have played most of those that are likely to appeal best to my personal taste, since I mostly favour real courses, and have gone through ousgg's reviews, the old community rating system, other lists, old and new forum posts and whatnot, but I know there still must be some courses out there that I'd love if only I had the time and energy to seek them out. I used to work through my long to-play list now and then, here and there, but nowadays I struggle to just keep up with playing all the new releases (in addition to replaying all my favourite courses on a regular-enough basis, which is also going rather slowly). I suspect a lot of you check out courses without playing a full round, I do that on occasion too, but I dont really like it, I much prefer giving courses a full round before evaluating how I feel about them - which is the main reason I struggle to work through my long list of courses to try out...

Re: How many Links 2k3 courses have you played?
I've played 260 courses, which are on my hard drive in 2 directories,
some courses have disappeared or are not available any more.
There are 1747 courses available on Links Corner as of today 11-24-24, some good, some not so good.
Thanks to ALL the designers.

Re: How many Links 2k3 courses have you played?
I don't use the " Course" directory. I group my courses alphabetically (A-C, D-F and so on). My directories show a total of 587 files. This probably includes different revisions of same courses, betas, maybe some shadow files. This doesn't include courses that I played once and decided I didn't like them. Those are in a separate directory named "Don't Like" (very creative ). I found out a while ago that if I deleted a course that I didn't like and it came up again, I would waste time downloading it again.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: How many Links 2k3 courses have you played?
It was always my goal to play all of the available courses. It was partly why I created my course spreadsheet. As of now, I'm only updated with courses released to the middle of October but not counting older versions of courses, I've played less than 25% of the released courses. Real life (aka work!) got in the way back then and now that I've retired, I'm still finding it difficult to get the interest to pursue my goal. Some of that might be due to my aging computer and failed video card, so I don't know if I'll ever get back to playing more courses.
Links 2003:
(I had the same goal with PG, and have fallen short on that one too at 110/493 or 22%!)
