Hole Preview Peachtree

Post by Ian Wells »

I am beginning to make the hole previews for Peachtree GC and before I go any further I would like your opinions.
I am worried that there is too much information and that it looks too cluttered.
This is a screenshot from within Links (not the best quality):

and this is the jpg:

Your thoughts will be welcomed

I think I'd like to see the hole box fill the the hole preview window. Other than that, looks great to me. I liked your hole previews for Wade. You did a great job on that course. Fun to play and look at.

I can see what youre saying about possibly too cluttered, in my personal subjective opinion I would say the elevation numbers might not be worth going through the trouble of doing for that reason, but now that you've done them they're nice additional info so why not. I dont mind the "frame", I tried no frame on my hole previews for my current course first, but thought it looked a bit odd with the 2 shades of green (the Links background and the background colour of the hole preview itself) clashing, so I added a frame sort of like you did albeit a thin one. My shades of green were more similar to eachother than yours though so it might not have been an issue for you.
Finished Courses - Main: Amedal (fictional), Nine Bridges (real)
Other: Austin, Sheshan, Kauri Cliffs, Le Golf Nat. Updates: Whirlpool, Royal Lytham, Royal St George's, Chicago, Chambers Bay, Munchen Nord E
Working on: 2 fictional courses + a couple things...

Thanks for your comments.
The clutter bothered me so I had a rethink and decided on the following layout:

Please comment if you have any thoughts/criticisms.
