Would like opinions on what people think of these looks. Do you prefer planted or unplanted deep grass?

Cheers Sage

I normally love planting, but I'm struggling to get the look I want, especially with the desert (do palms grow in sand?), and whether to plant rocks as well.

As far as I know palms grow anywhere.....a few rock outcropping might go well....but not very many.....

It depends on how manicured the course is vs looking wild. The less manicured, the more I like the planted deep grass - especially on golf links.

I think I prefer without, mostly from a gameplay perspective (deep rough is punishing enough as it is), but I think slightly from a visual perspective as well even though a close call. That said, I think both are 100% fine.
Finished Courses - Main: Amedal (fictional), Nine Bridges (real)
Other: Austin, Sheshan, Kauri Cliffs, Le Golf Nat. Updates: Whirlpool, Royal Lytham, Royal St George's, Chicago, Chambers Bay, Munchen Nord E
Working on: 2 fictional courses + a couple things...

Welcome to the first tee at Walhat El Sahraa (Desert Oasis). The computer golfers are out on the course, setting the hole handicaps, before I release it to beta. I will do the rest of the off course planting, and things like ball washers, crowds etc, along with hole previews and splashes once this is done.
Thanks to Sage for allowing me to use the panorama

I must admit.....nothing except for a few custom textures are mine from any course I have done......almost everything is used from previous designers.

I would like to thank them all here and now.....THANK YOU...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The computer players have been playing feverishly all day and the handicaps are in. I have uploaded the beta for people to have a look at, and find any issues before I move on to final planting of tee furniture and crowds (my least favourite thing to do), hole previews and splash screens etc.
