Anyone know how to make an adjustment to this stick? I've tried compatibility settings and admin rights etc., no luck.
The setting is available during a round under Shot Options > Swing Options.
During a session it retains my setting but upon reopening LS it defaults.

Re: Mouse sensitivity resetting to default on restart
It depends on why you want to do what you want to do with your "shot options" and "Swing options" setting. The special part of this response should be in the "Playing Links" Forum instead of this Forum. It has to do with playing the game whereas this Forum is more about Hardware and Software.
Normally you are just setting your swing type. That is Classic, Powerstroke, or real time swing. Your player only has one swing type for a round of golf. You set that in the Player setup" "Options" on the first window, and "Player" on the second window. Player "Settings" when it opens - top of window. Done. Of course you need to select "Skill Level", too. Amateur, Pro, Champ, or Elite.
But, I happen to play the RTS setting, and the only way I can fade or draw the ball is to do the setup you were asking about. It may look complicated, but it really isn't, however some golf knowledge would help. Here it is:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fade and Draw:
Clickers have Fade and Draw available to them but RTSers are supposed to make some magical mouse movement that I find impossible. This fixes it.
A. Select your favorite golfer Ani, Set them up as a RTS golfer ("Options" - "Player" - "Settings") and go into an 18 hole round at any course.
B. In the game screen bottom's MENU, click on "Shot Options", inside that, select "Swing Options". Change the swing type to "click".
C. Go to the Shot "Setup". (Right click on the swing icon - choose "Setup")
D. IMPORTANT: Uncheck the "This shot only" check mark box.
E. Choose a Driver to start with.
1. Select "Fade" and take note of where the "Swing Plane", "Club Face" and "Trajectory" sliders have moved to.
2. Choose "Flop" and reset the sliders to the "Fade" selections. (Also adjust Trajectory to 2 clicks down for Driver and 4 clicks down for all others)
3. Select "Draw" and take note of where the "Swing Plane", "Club Face" and "Trajectory" sliders have moved to.
4. Choose "Punch" and reset the sliders to the "Draw" selections. (Also adjust Trajectory to 2 clicks down for Driver and 4 clicks down for all others)
5. Change to the next club.
6. Repeat steps 1 thru 5 for all your clubs.
F. Click the "Shot Setup" OK button.
G.Once back in the game, change the swing type to "RTS". (Game screen bottom menu, "Shot Options", "Swing Options")
If it worked, "Flop" is now your Fade setting, and "Punch" is now your Draw setting. If it didn't work, the "This Shot Only" box was probably NOT unchecked. (It makes the change permanent)
High trajectories create more fade and lower trajectories create a more violent draw. The Driver has the most violent Fade and Draw. To aim the Driver, pick a spot 250 yards out and fade away from or draw away from that spot. To pass settings to your other named players, "Clone" the one you set up to a new golfer. The settings will pass along.
Wind affects the amount of Fade and Draw. For best results, hit a "Punch" (ie."draw") into a wind that is blowing from your left to your right. and hit a "Flop" (ie. "Fade") into a wind that is blowing right to left. Note: sometimes the "sweet spot" club contact with the ball will affect the amount of Fade/Draw. Fades stop quicker than other shots.
TRAJECTORY should be 2 clicks down from the top for Driver and 4 clicks down for other woods and irons.
Swing Plane: -------------------------------- Club Face settings:
Fade: -2 for woods and -3 for irons // +2 for woods and +3 for irons
Draw: +2 for woods and +3 for Irons // -2 for woods and -3 for irons
Irons: Reduce settings to -2 or +2 to reduce severity of Fade/Draw
This should make the game much more enjoyable for RTSers.

Re: Mouse sensitivity resetting to default on restart
Thanks for all that info, very handy!
I posted it in this forum because I thought it was a software bug.
Are we talking about the same issue though because I'm asking about why this slider ('Mouse Swing Sensitivity') keeps resetting to the default position?
I play using RTS, Elite and set the mouse to 400dpi (making sure the OS has mouse acceleration off). I find this combined with the sensitivity slider fully left gives me good control over my swing (until it resets back to the default setting again next time I play).
I've attached a screenshot of the window in question. Cheers.

Re: Mouse sensitivity resetting to default on restart
Pete,
Great info, never knew that, I'll enjoy playing around with that and it is still easy enough to play a one off Flop or Punch shot.
As for the mouse sensitivity you describe, what Pete has documented it not about that specific issue.
I do not think it is a bug as such. I do not see any setting for this at the global level, nor can I find any entry in the registry, so it looks to me as if this is intended as a per round setting, why I have no idea it is not making much sense to me.
I feel that your only option may be to look at the Windows mouse settings. Perhaps someone else has some ideas.

Re: Mouse sensitivity resetting to default on restart
I've never seen much result from that slider. So far, a cheap wired mouse (B100) gives me all the sensitivity I need. If you do find something, please post it! Thanks.Tweed & Whisky wrote: ↑August 2nd, 2025, 6:24 am Thanks for all that info, very handy!

Appreciate your replies, thank you.
Re: Mouse sensitivity resetting to default on restart
Not sure if these will help, doubt it, but could be worth a try - Test closing down Links manually after changing it and see if it sticks then. Can also try running Links as Admin.
Main Courses made: Amedal (fict), Nine Bridges (real)

Re: Mouse sensitivity resetting to default on restart
Pete,
I tried your instructions for adding Draw and Fade shots to RTS.
It worked well, I may try tweaking it a little, but having a stock Draw and Fade shot in RTS is a great addition and you do not lose anything in that you can set up a specific shot up to play a Punch or Flop in any case.
Seems I can copy that golfer between machines as well.
