The greens on holes 6 and 15 are not contoured correctly. I made copies of the strackaline green contours available when the 2023 PGA Championship was being previewed. I can't verify the accuracy of the Strackaline contours but they look right and are the best source of info I know of that is available.

The seam blends for the bunkers looks stretched out to me. Try about 1/2 of the V-wrap value used in the path map.

Seam blend texture properties look good but I think there is naming issue between the rough and 1st Cut. The extrusions used for the seam blends may be a little harsh, causing a shadow line and that may be what Ian is mentioning.

Looking forward to Oak Hill getting completed! :cheers1:

linkster,

The greens I used I downloaded in early 2024 from strakaline, not sure what the discrepancy is between the PGA and when I d/l'd them.

To me it looks like the green contours use the old 2018 lidar DEM (pre-renovation) with the new green lines (post-renovation).

I don't know if the Stracka Line contours I found on the internet are truly accurate, but they look more appropriate. It it tough working on courses that have recently been renovated.

Linkster,

I compared the greens you uploaded from the PGA and the greens I downloaded in early 2024. Everything seems the same except for 6 and 15. It’s almost as if the greens show the shape after renovation but the contours are pre renovation, so I see where there’s a small problem with StrackaLine and their distribution of the mappings.

Glenn,

I've played a couple of more rounds on my Windows Notebook. It seems to be the Windows/Intel GPU/dgVoodoo combination where I see hangs.

I have not seen any with Oak Hill.

Only had time for a brief check here and there, didnt see any problems. I happened to see that the Hole 13 hole preview says hole 12, but thats a non-issue. Another non-issue, that I want to mention for the purpose of being food for thought - The first cut plays like rough, but to me it visually looks like it would play as fairway/short grass. From a strategical standpoint, it gives the illusion that the fairway is wider than it actually is. Not really a problem, and I personally quite like that we still get some tough US Open-style set-up courses with tough rough and deep rough here and there, but I tend to prefer when one can visually see where the border between fairway and rough is without much trouble, the challenge feels more fair that way.
Main Courses made: Amedal (fict), Nine Bridges (real)
Other: Austin, Sheshan, Kauri Cliffs, Le Golf, Shadow Creek Updates: Whirlpool, Royal Lytham, Royal St George's, Chicago, Chambers Bay, Munchen Nord E
Working on: 2 fict courses + some things...

Adelade, thank you. Noted on the ability to differentiate the difference between cuts. I don't know what I can do with the textures but I will see what I can come up with.
