I know very little about btx files, but can I ask why you want to edit one? What's your goal?

You can retrieve the tree btx with the Link Extender and edit the tree to suit your needs. Then when you import it into your planting set, the Object Library will use your edited picture to create a new group of views. No need for you to edit the reduced images. The OL will do it for you during the import.

Hope that helped,

Dan

Trees are 2D objects rather than 3D, use image editing software (e.g. Paint.Net, Gimp, Photoshop) instead of 3D software to edit them. Some tree objects have low resolution trunks, others have higher resolution. Your 'Picture Quality' setting within Links graphics options will also have an impact on how detailed they look from certain distances.
Finished Courses - Main: Amedal (fictional), Nine Bridges (real)
Other: Austin, Sheshan, Kauri Cliffs, Le Golf Nat. Updates: Whirlpool, Royal Lytham, Royal St George's, Chicago, Chambers Bay, Munchen Nord E
Working on: 2 fictional courses + a couple things...
