club sounds

Post by akabricky »

I normally play powerstroke, but today I tried playing in classic mode. I noticed the the clubs sounded much better in Classic than powerstroke. Do they use different sound files? Any help would be appreciated.

Did anyone reply to you? I guess no one knows? I dont play PS and dont know the sound files too well but maybe if you try replacing your predefined.ssf within the main Links folder (best to make a backup just in case) or if you see any other .ssf files it may give some clue? Might be worth checking the Sound settings menu within Links as well but those shouldnt explain why different swing types have different sounds..

I've noticed that as well. I usually use the Classic Swing.....but tried both Real Time and Power Stroke to see if I might do well with them. The clubs do have a different sound to them. The sound of the RTS and PS styles seem to lack a little "depth" or "weight", IMO. Didn't give it much further thought.

Thanks for the replies, I have tried changing out the predefined to no effect.
Thanks for confirming, I will live with the tinny sound and continue to enjoy playing in powerstroke.

Hello,

I also noticed that Real Time and Power Stroke have a different sound.
But I also found the Classic Swing Sound a bit flat.

Therefore I changed the Fullswng.wav file in the predefined.ssf file.
This change only affects the Classic Swing.
This gives all Woods Clubs a somewhat more powerful sound.
