Daily new value in Registry

Post by MulliganForever »

Since I'm a maniac in debugging softwares, I've noticed Links2003 creates a new DWord value in Windows Registry each day:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Links 2003]
"01.08.03.1400"=dword:00000001
"01.08.03.1500"=dword:00000001
"01.08.03.1600"=dword:00000001
"01.08.03.1700"=dword:00000001

I don't know what the leading numbers 01.08 stand for, but I guess the following numbers are the month and the day,
because I installed the game on March 14th

Now I'm wondering... If a new value is created every day, I imagine veteran players, who play since years, should have thousands of those values in their registry!

Just out of curiosity, could you please check your registry and tell me how many of those values you have?

I see these registry entries but have no idea what they do. I think you are probably corect re the month and day as the entries went up to 02.2800 (February) and the ones before went up to 01.3100 (January). There are gaps though. The latest one goes to 03.1500 (2 days ago about right). Fired it up just now (getting a first time load :clapping: ) and saw an additional entry ending 03.1700 (today's date). I have reinstalled Links on this machine about a year ago and proably see as many as 100-200 entries reflecting the days I managed to get Links to run.
