There was another loss in the sporting world this week. Colleen Jones, one of the first superstar female curlers succumbed to cancer at the age of 65.
Colleen curled out of Halifax and won her provincial championship 21 times. Of those appearances she won three national championships and two worlds. I was in the crowd in Winnipeg when she lost her only world final to Deb McCormick of the US...still the US's only women's world title.

Not being a curling fan, I remember her more as the fun CBC reporter that she was. Amazing person. R.I.P. Colleen.
