cant changover to the resolution 800-600

well i think my links playing days might be numbered. I can't figure out how to change the resolution over to 800-600. I tried both ways that were suggested going into settings and then clicking on the nvidia card itself. HELP!!!

I'm guessing you need to change resolution to get Links running. Easy, sort of. If you know how to run regedit and change the registry.

How to change the settings as provided by Rehit:

this is a regedit, so be careful...
go to start, run, regedit (as an Administrator).
click on the following entries:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Microsoft Games
LINKS 2003
Display Settings - - - (this is your goal. like a chapter name. "Mode" is inside it. You want to change Mode to the value 1. Mode 1 is 800 x 600)

MAKE NO MISTAKE! Regedit is serious! Make a mistake and your PC may become a BRICK (ie. Dead!). If you're not sure about what you're doing, don't do it!

pete thanks for the help. how do i save the change when i change the number. from 0 to 1. it keeps reseting on me.

i got it to stay. now im just having a hard time on a number to pick. its driving me crazy.

Do this:
Go into /Windows/System32/ folder to find the regedt32.exe file that you need to run.
Select it with a single-click.
Then right-click on it and select "Run as Administrator". (and say 'yes' to allowing this to make a change to your system) Doing this will save your changes!

The Regedit32 program is now running.
Drill down to the "Mode" option inside /Display Settings/
Right-click on Mode, choose "Modify"
Put a 1 in "Value Data" (doing this when you've chosen "Run as Administrator" makes your change SAVE.)

Come back here and post that it's done and it now works! (Please)

800 x 600 should be the initial resolution when you apply the 1.07 patch, no lower resolution is possible.
