Putt the ball already....
Re: Links PGA Tour 2026 - John Deere Classic
My rounds on this course so far have shown a different pattern, either fairly even between the two nines or have done a little better on the back nine. When I had a better back nine (nicely under par) I did get off to a bad start, but got of to a blinder on the back nine - 4 straight birdies before going a little cool.
I just have no idea though of what I am going to get.

A simple precis for todays round:
0 Bogeys, 5 birdies, 1 eagle, for a fourth round 31/33 - 64.
Playing breezy conditions certainly helped me, but my short game was much better with a flop from 42 yards on the 2nd giving me an eagle 3. On the previous three rounds I averaged 28 putts, today, 23.
I feel that the scores will be low today. Gentlemen, enjoy the round and good luck.

Yes Ian, easier without the gusts, and nice round.
I had a 65 (31-34), but I must admit that this horse is not for this course under less favorable conditions.

Well done guys.
I had my normal practice beforehand. Today it was my shots into the green that were poor, I was ending up somewhere in the vicinity of the green, but that is about as consistent as it got.
During the round it was somewhat similar, not as pronounced though, with the occasional decent shot appearing, but only 24 putts so I made up some ground there. Given the breaks on some of these greens I was happy with that.
You will not hear it anywhere else but a jumper sleeve cost me a stroke, it caught on the edge of the table and pretty much stopped the mouse, what a !@#$%^, that was the cause of my one bogie of the day, something like that is pretty much the guarantee of a dropped shot when using RTS.
On the bright side I went out in 30, the errant jumper was on the back nine, but I still managed to come home in 33 for a 63.
All in all a good week, I'm not threatening but am playing better and that was the goal. I had swapped out a couple of higher lofted woods for irons, they seem to work better in Links. The 4 wood distance is still dodgy, perhaps a 1 iron would be better (definitely not in real life!).

Des, I love your round descriptions. You begin with some doom and gloom, and then end with oh yeah, I was 8 under.

Most of my practice sessions indicate doom and gloom is coming, but I do seem to get a bit better feel for the actual round.
I do find that the margin for error is often very fine, at times it seems to be only about a millimetre on the swing gauge.

Please don't ever change your commentary. It's truly something I look forward to.

3rd round is in the books. Delayed to this morning because I was so busy yesterday filming another video. I'll do the final round later this evening. Play well mates! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5O5Fj1QNyM
