Re: Links PGA Tour 2026 - The CJ Cup Byron Nelson
I got out for a 1:45 start.
The wind conditions were not in my favour today, on the par 5s they were generally against me, which made it difficult to get home in less than 3, so any birdies were generally the result of a good putt. The wind also meant I missed quite a few greens and was dependent on good chips to save the day.
The 15th continues to be my nemesis hole, ensured I missed the water but made the back bunker, unable to get down from there so made a bogie, still that is a great improvement on the practice round (just about anything would) Still that was the only blemish on the scorecard so with 5 birdies I made a 68.
So a solid round without anything too spectacular happening either way, there were some good chip shots, though no chip ins and some good putts, but I left myself too many testy side hill breaks that I felt I could not really go for, if they had of been straight up or down hill it could have been a far better storey.

For the first time ever, no holes over par.
I found the front nine more difficult than the back nine and yet I scored 32/33 for a 65. My best round so far.
The main reason for the score was my putting, especially the 6-9 footers, today the dropped.
Now I am looking for the wind to increase to gale force.

Great rounds being posted so far! I went out in the late morning grouping, was a little worried about gusty wind conditions. started up coming short on my approach at #1 and promptly chipped in for an opening birdie (as it said on my PGA 2K21 Xbox game, you can't birdie them all without birdieing #1) but promptly gave that back with a 3 putt bogey at #2, 4 pars including 2 makeable birdie misses before birdieing the last 3 of the front nine to go out in 33 shots, back nine started with a wonky driver as I drove into the left rough at #10 and into sand in front of the green for a bogey to start the back nine, drove into right rough the next 2 holes leading to a par and birdie on the par 5 12th, at #14 tried to drive the green as the wind was at my back, came up 56 feet short in the rough by the water, chunked my first chip short of the green but got a birdie chip-in, 3 more pars and finished with a birdie on #18 to come back in in 33 shots to finish 33-34=67 10 fairways, 13 greens, 26 putts.
No pressure for the afternoon groups Pinseeker! LOL!
