:clapping: 2026 PGA Championship - 2nd Rd - Pin Position

Some behind the scenes..... :ninja:

I wanted to give you guys a look into what I'm doing over here.

How do I know which pin?
I don't lol. It's a educated guess.

:bookh: What you don't see is the game is in windows mode and off to the side (out of view) is the pin sheet, and I'm looking back and forth. I start by getting next to green and expanding the overhead. First, is how it looks on the overhead. I'll place the marker on the overhead then look on the green to see how close or far the nearest pin. Then I might use the yardages they give (tie breakers), and lastly, if it has been used in the past (if applicable).

:whip: Download the pin sheet from the link below and place it on one side of your screen and play the video over on the other side. Follow a long as I choose the pins. #8, #11 and #12 gave me the most problem. Those are "as close as possible pins".

Actually I do something similar with your conditions sheet, except on my desktop I have two screens so Links full screen on one monitor and the setup on the second screen.

I was happily surprised when I was nearer the top of the leaderboard than the bottom after the first round.

However, after the Lord Mayors show!

Started very well, 2 under after 4, even after 5 and 2 under after 9.
Then 3 pars on the back nine, 2 double bogeys and 4 bogeys.

Round 2 33, 43 for a 76.

I don't know if it is a relief that I will miss the cut? :dunno:

Good luck to my fellow players.

Well, Ian, you and I are now tied. Yep, I shot a 79. At least I was consistent; 39-40 (or was it 40-39?)

I haven't yet decided if I'm going to withhold evidence of this travesty. :banned: It's in five parts.

No complaints; just bad golf.

Those greens! I need to take a Valium and go and lie down for a long while.

I played what looked like a lot of really good approach shots, but the greens made them into very average shots. Also land on the front of the green and roll off the back, sigh.

Today I was off the green many times and played no chip shots, played them all as pitch shots to try and land them closer to the hole to take a lot of the break out, it did help.

I did one bad mouse roll and on RTS that is deadly, a short bad slice is the result. To balance that out a pitch a shot in for an eagle, the amount of break I allowed for on that shot (16th) was obscene.

I somehow managed to get a 71 out of the smokey ruins.

i did hear there was a solar flare at the same time as you saved that file. It may have been corrupted. :dunno:

Des,
Those greens! I need to take a Valium
Make that two. they are very frustrating, irritating, infuriating and every other synonym.

I have returned to my day job, Pelican Hill, it is so relaxing after those greens.

For Information I have posted a question on the DDrawCompat developers website to see if he may have any ideas on how to get the Green Analyzer working reliably with the wrapper.

Des

PS there is no deadlock occurring or anything else Links has just stopped sending DirectDraw commands.
