Animation Textures

Post by dwg »

I have been using AniFactory to create new animations, but have also been pushing the boundaries.

Using the Golfer Utility I have been able to replace the arms with what look like sleeves and hands to create Sun Sleeves, they come out quite well and look as you would expect.

My next step has been to see if I can achieve the look of long sleeves, initially I just used the same colour as the shirt on the arms, but as you can imagine they come out looking like sun sleeves of the matching colour.

The only long sleeve Ani I know of is Russell2008, so I pulled him apart and had a look at the shirts and arm textures. The sleeve part of the shirt has clearly been changed and you can see the colours in the arms that indicate that has been altered too with some shadowing effects.

As many would know you create a new shirt by taking an existing white shirt, taking a coloured rectangle of the same dimension and blending them together using the multiply option.

From the pulled apart Russell Ani the best I can get is a green shirt where I can see the shadowing effect. Is anyone aware of how I can turn this back into a basic white texture with the grey shadowing, that I can then use to create new shirts from, In essence I am really looking for how I can reverse the process of creating a new shirt.

The closest I have been able to get is a basic white shirt but all the shadowing is in pink, but I have not been able to change the pinks to greys.

Working with images is something I have zero experience with, it is certainly not my forte.

For information, I have access to Paint.NET. Paint Shop Pro 7.04 and GIMP, so what I think is if it can be done, one of those programs should be capable of doing it.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
