Windows 11 Install
Re: Windows 11 Install
Well, here I am again with a new computer. I have done all steps and I can't get it to work. I have tried to install the wrapper. When I try to apply the wrapper nothing happens when I click the button. It does not say "dgVoodoo Direct X Wrapper" on the bottom of the screen when Links starts up. What am I missing?
Re: Windows 11 Install
We're missing a lot of information!
What exactly is it doing?
Tell us about your system(video card, OS,etc.).
What steps have you taken to this point?

No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Windows 11 Install
All my specs are in the previous posts.Same computer as I had before. Nothing happens when I try to apply wrapper.
Re: Windows 11 Install
Changing the story completely in an hour and a half is not good.
If it is the same computer and I note you also said it was working earlier, what has changed.

Re: Windows 11 Install
It is the same computer. I had to send it back for repair. All my files were lost when they repaired it.
Re: Windows 11 Install
You need to consider the audience that is reading what you write, we have no knowledge of the backstory, so when someone says they have a new computer we take it to mean they have a new computer.
When you then say it is the same computer we think what the hell the story changes, has he been lying to us, what else ha he not bene telling us.
It would have been far better and more informative to say you had to send the computer back for repairs and Links was wiped out so required a reinstallation and setting it up from scratch.
Put yourself in the readers shoes when you post a question, we only know what you disclose.
It still comes down to what process have you followed for the installation, what Links kit has been used, what patches have been applied, what happens when Links starts, even on an Intel GPU I expect it to start, even though it may not be terribly useful without a wrapper.

Re: Windows 11 Install
I installed Links and the patches. changed to 32 bit in game, downloaded the wrapper and followed the directions that Andy Hope had. When I clicked on the apply button for the wrapper nothing happed. I do not see dgVoodoo Direct X Wrapper on the bottom of my screen so I dont think it applied the wrapper. I may just deleted everything and try again. Not sure what I am doing different than what I did before.
Re: Windows 11 Install
"Install Links and Patches" Can mean many things, it could mean installed the downloaded Links version and the Nvidia patch. It could mean installed from CD, installed the 1.07 update and the Nvidia patch.
But it could well mean; installed from CD, installed the 1.02 parch, installed the 1.05 patch, installed the No CD patch, installed the 1.07 update, installed the Nvidia patch.
Or it could also mean something else entirely.
The control panel program for the wrapper, read, writes and edits the wrapper's configuration file, that is all, there is nothing to see.
If Links does not display that acceleration is by dgVoodoo then it sounds like the wrappers DLL files are not in the same folder as the Links program files, they must be in the same folder as any program that is to use them.
