Missing Skies

Post by NateMullins »

Hi, it's been a long time since I posted here! Two weeks ago, my laptop was stolen. I have since bought a new laptop, reinstalled Links and have it up and running well again. I had been backing up all Links files from the documents folder like saved shots, recorded rounds etc. (I have Windows 11), at least until a few months ago when I turned off OneDrive to save resources, and I forgot to turn it back on to auto sync.

While I only lost a small percentage of the documents data, all Links files in peripheral folders (e.g. program data, program files) disappeared, even though I thought I had auto synced them also. So no course or player stats, no saved score/stat files and only the default skies.

The stats are gone, but I've been able to redownload almost everything, including the skies available here (thanks for those!) except for a handful of my favorite skies and wondered if anyone had them. I'll do my best to remember the names of them.

bigstorm
BurnsOldLinks
CournoustieSky1-2
DanielSky1-45 or somewhere around that. I have DanielsSky but not DanielSky files. Many of these were nice sunsets.
fluffyclouds1-3
impendingstorm
rainclouds1-5
Rehit_skies - there were many blue sky and cloudy sky files.
stormapproach
sunlight1-3 (these were my absolute favorite, lenticular type clouds with deep blue sky)
sunrise1-2
setsky - there were multiple sunsets
woodrowsky1-3

And I'm sure there were a handful more.

If anyone has those and is able to share, please send me a PM. I would greatly appreciate it!

PS there were also a few panoramas for the APCD that I lost, some of the mountain, town and country ones.

Nate,

Here is a WeTransfer link - https://we.tl/t-ehdwuyZlji.

It contains two zip files - one which has 62 sky files created by Rehit (the late Mick Prendergast), the other contains 314 sky files from various creators/designers that I received from Armand some years ago. Most of the specific sky files you mentioned are contained in the Armand zip.

I have a bunch of panos, I'll try to put them together and post another link for them when time allows.

The WeTransfer link is good for three days.

Leo

Edit: Here is the link for the panoramas - https://we.tl/t-Hm89ahcU7B.

The zip file includes 101 panos I have collected throughout the years along with a PDF file where I tried to give credit to the authors of those panos.

Thanks Gator! This could have been a life-saver - only problem is I just saw this too late, and it looks like the links have expired. Can you please repost/resend, and I'll make sure I keep looking for your follow-up post? Thanks again.

Nate,

Here you go - https://we.tl/t-AiytBHInov.

I put all 3 zip files in this one link. WeTransfer used to allow links for free uploads to last for 7 days, but they have shortened them to 3 days now.
