"Why am I using a new putter? Because the last one did not float too well. - Craig Stadler"

I still miss that personality on Tour. Who can forget the "silver helicopter" after the failed wedge out of the bunker.

Now it's "Ho hum, I guess I won again".

I'm sad to say that I feel the same way. You might still see some "characters" on the Senior Tour but the players on the main tour appear to be "cookie cutter" products.

How many of you would recognize Scottie Sheffler if he's not in a golf surrounding?

Be honest.

I feel exactly the same way. I miss the "characters" on Tour, even if it's Kevin Na needing 16 strokes to complete a hole (caddy shaking his head), or whiffing on a tee shot. To watch golf on TV, it had better be interesting, because it's not like watching hockey. It's the psychological aspect that made it watchable, the pressure, the mistakes, the personalities. Nowadays it's porridge instead of pizza, and I can't be bothered, especially living +12 hours out of ideal viewing time. Scheffler won again? Too exciting...

And that guy had ARMS! The silver helicopter was merely a flick of the wrist, nearly effortless, and it was a daisy-cutter. That's the PGA I loved...and miss.

There are so many I can't even remember them all. VJ (your 6" spikes left marks on the green!), Phil the Thrill (just one ridiculous, unneeded shot across that water and I win!). Sorry, 4 years post-stroke, but I still remember how golf-on-tv used to be, not just Scheffler, Schauffele, Shuffle-or-w/e wins again. I'm now 12-15 hours out of live viewing range, but why bother? It's all porridge, no pizza.
