I'm back, lover of the game, just to play Augusta. WGT sux with it's divisive payments but the best to date. It's ripe for a competitor that isnt greedy with open architecture again. I loved cases ladder back in the day and was hoping there was equivalent around today but alas not many active players. It'll be around for sometime until that competitor arrives. I think WGT goes to some effort to scan a complete course, I'm sure a course can be scanned for substantially less. In the meantime this is pretty good for its age.

I have to admit, after all this time, that links 2003 now bores me to tears. Same ol'. same ol'.
There are a few courses that I am designing, courses that I absolutely love, and now that has become an absolute chore. Although I am trying to persist, but there are more interesting hobbies for me I tend to prefer with what free time I have. Maybe that will change, but I doubt it.

I'm sorry to read that, DH, but before you abandon all your projects I hope you will consider passing some of them on to someone who will take steps to get them completed. Who knows how long this game will live!

Yes, I would be happy to pass anything on if I completely throw in the towel.
Not yet though...

I think I stopped playing 2003 about 2010 due to starting a family and other distractions. The death of Cases ladder really hampered my interest too. Then there was a stage where I wanted to create a course too I enjoyed the game so much. Now coming back to it, it reminded me how much I enjoyed it, the quality of some of the courses has really fired me up to play this again more regularly. I just got to get my direct connection sorted with a friend so we can play some matches. I really believe this game has a pulse. I haven't read through all the forums, I suspect the patches are unofficial, so are MS ever likely to release it as freeware? Numerous upgrades could be applied. I just don't think its that far off the mark for it's age. Played a few of the 2K series, not up to scratch for new game. Played a bit of WGT....level 77, not back, chipping/bunkers are hard as they should be, just don't like there financial reward model. Looked at Perfect Golf, looks appealing, never bought it though. I just believe if there were an online servers where you could play matches and the like I think it would get an revival. Maybe I'm mad and just on second honeymoon with it. Damn crooked creek is good, Pine Valley too.

It's before, Dave. There was a problem with hole 3 greatly exceeding 250 yds. The ball is in the designer's court as far as what to do.
