I couldn't wait, so I took a deep breath and went after it. I immediately abandoned the bomb and gouge approach and played conservatively where I thought it appropriate and scored way over my head to shoot 63, with eagles at 14 and 18 (325-yard drive and a very lucky sand wedge!)

I recorded the round by using the windows button + g, but it ended up being an 800 mb file that didn't play smoothly, although it did capture the round. I have no place to post it and guess it's too large to do it anyway. I also recorded the round using Links, which is only a 22k file but doesn't show the thought process for each shot, which I find to be one of the more interesting facets of the you tube files.

I snuck out well after the last group. Good to get some more practice under tournament conditions.

Had a good talk to my teacher about mouse, umm that is club control and hit the full shots much better.

Alas the distance control was not good and the putter ran hot and cold, and when cold it was really cold.

Still I thought a 68 (-3) was ok, especially after my previous 2 rounds. I mostly ran foul on the par 4s and had too many shots from the fringe which I had decided to putt from rather than chip as my chipping has not been great of late, been using the SW for all chips, may have to go back to the 6 - 8 -10 method.

The rough can be rather penal.

Great start Doug Ollie, Which one are you reporting for your first round, the 63 or the 68? :dunno:

:bookh: On recording, start/settings/gaming/Capture...
4hr max
capture audio
60fps and
High quality
my original recordings are about 3-4 Gigs each. After editing (adding a fade-in, a fade-out and cut 25 seconds of dead air at the start to get to the first tee) using my windows movie maker, my upload size is about half at 2 Gigs.

:pcwhack: YouTube likes short videos. To post longer ones, you need to jump through some hoops to make sure your a real person and then you'll be able to post longer videos :tiphat:

Was out in the early wave at Copperhead, struggled on the front nine finding fairways, birdies at 1 and 4, went into water off the tee on 3 for double bogey, a 3putt bogey at 5, bogey at 7 to go out in 38. Played a little more consistent on the back nine, nothing but pars until a 12 foot birdie at 16, double bogey on 18 as I came up short on my approach, took 2 chips to get on the green and missed short bogey putt to come back in 36 for a 3 over 38-36-74. 8 fairways, 12 greens, 32 putts, missed a couple of short birdie putts.

SCG, it looks like you confused me (dko) with another new participant (dwg) on this tour. I posted the 63, he shot the 68.

In the future, maybe just refer to me as Doug O; I used my initials as my user id for the links corner forum. When I decided to use the pro distance mod, I had to create a new player. I named it Ollie based on an old college nickname.

I have been accused of "understanding too quickly" in the past.

Anyway, I figured out this you tube thing and posted the raw video of my first round (baby steps.)

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I've had so many problems with the audio on this computer and rarely can get it to work. :wallbash:

I'll try again for the second round.
