I couldn't wait, so I took a deep breath and went after it. I immediately abandoned the bomb and gouge approach and played conservatively where I thought it appropriate and scored way over my head to shoot 63, with eagles at 14 and 18 (325-yard drive and a very lucky sand wedge!)
I recorded the round by using the windows button + g, but it ended up being an 800 mb file that didn't play smoothly, although it did capture the round. I have no place to post it and guess it's too large to do it anyway. I also recorded the round using Links, which is only a 22k file but doesn't show the thought process for each shot, which I find to be one of the more interesting facets of the you tube files.
Links PGA Tour 2026 - Valspar Championship
Re: Links PGA Tour 2026 - Valspar Championship
I snuck out well after the last group. Good to get some more practice under tournament conditions.
Had a good talk to my teacher about mouse, umm that is club control and hit the full shots much better.
Alas the distance control was not good and the putter ran hot and cold, and when cold it was really cold.
Still I thought a 68 (-3) was ok, especially after my previous 2 rounds. I mostly ran foul on the par 4s and had too many shots from the fringe which I had decided to putt from rather than chip as my chipping has not been great of late, been using the SW for all chips, may have to go back to the 6 - 8 -10 method.
The rough can be rather penal.
