Re: Links and Linux

That's great work, Des. I sort of gave up on Links and Linux - partly due to interest and partly due to such old, decrepit hardware (I had to take one laptop apart and heat up/re-flow the graphics chip again else the display wouldn't work at all). I am planning on a new computer soon, so I'll look f...

Re: How many Links 2k3 courses have you played?

It was always my goal to play all of the available courses. It was partly why I created my course spreadsheet. As of now, I'm only updated with courses released to the middle of October but not counting older versions of courses, I've played less than 25% of the released courses. Real life (aka work...

Re: Not sure if this will work for others

Daniel, I don't have Win11 yet, but I'm guessing my new computer (not yet ordered, but soon!) will have it. I don't know much about the Sandbox, but is it similar to a Virtual Machine (VM)? If not, I'm thinking a VM might be possible to get Links and APCD running under Windows 11, if they don't run ...

Re: My new computer and windows 11

Sage, I'm not sure how tech savvy you are or if you have someone around who could help if you need it, but I've been dabbling with a Virtual Machine (VM) on my Linux installation to be able to get Links to run. Early days suggest it might be promising. If it's something you want to look into for APC...

Re: Links and Linux

I have given up on Wine and explored VMs (Virtual Machines) running under Linux. My MX Linux distro/repo has VirtualBox, so I installed that and used a WinXP iso that I found online. I was able to install Links no problem, and it seems to run. I haven't installed any courses to try, because I get a ...

Re: Slow rendering

After a bit more investigating, I don't think that the DPI scaling is the issue with slow rendering. I ran across a post a LSPN.net indicating that changing a registry entry for random skies to blank has resolved the issue for others in the past. You might be able to adjust this in the graphic setti...

Re: anni location

I've fixed the issue with PIN files when ALL is selected, which then had me checking a few others - I found issues with the RCX files (which no one uses asnymore, since OWGT tour is long retired) and WAV file path. I think it now works better, but since it wasn't a real thorough check (at 3:10 am my...

Re: anni location

Yeah, it seems when I logged out, I couldn't adjust the dropdowns either - not sure when that changed with Google Docs (I reall don't use it much). I've changed the share method, and it seems to work now with this link when I'm not logged in - so I hope it works for others as well: https://docs.goog...
