Just a little FYI - If your game crashes and when you start again the message about your last game crashing doesn't appear, you can still continue from where you were.

Click Play Golf, load saved game - "Last Game Played" is exactly that, it takes you to the place you were last playing.

So far, so good. I tried playing the new Wakonda Club golf course for Links with one computer player and the game did not crash. However, I only played the front nine holes, but I have a feeling that your suggestion of turning off the Windows 10 "game mode" did the trick. I will let you know how it works once I play the back nine.
