Hi all
Have decided to post some pix of my work on New South Wales Golf Club. Have been struggling with motivation, haven't worked on it at all this year until a few weeks ago, so thought doing this might help!
Its another Sydney metropolitan course, this one perched above the Pacific Ocean in La Parouse. There are some pretty spectacular ocean holes, so hope I can capture that in my APCD design. This is also another Linkster DEM.
With this course, it is all completely mapped out and textured. Now I just work hole-by-hole and try and fully complete each one before moving to the next. I like to add as much detail as possible and make a genuine attempt about replicating everything I can about the course (or what's possible).
With Royal Sydney, the clubhouse was finished early on in the design. This time, I will leave it to the end. No choice but to build it, because the first tee is right outside the front door. It will take some time but its quite a straightforward 3D build.
(For the best view, right-click the image and open in a new tab).

Wow! Awesome! Things travel in 3's here recently (Sage/Ian/Colin) !!!

Colin, I love the look of the tall grasses ... it doesn't look like the kind of place you'd want to hit a ball into. Beautiful work
Re: New South Wales Golf Club
Looks good Colin.
I have been waiting for this one since I saw there was a version in the X-box version of Links (and sadly found out there was no way it could be converted to a PC course).
NSW is in a spectacular location, there are 4 courses clustered in the area, with NSW the pick.

Colin,
The textures and the planting look very good, very realistic.
Looking forward to your rendition of the clubhouse.

Re: New South Wales Golf Club
NSW Golf Club is progressing well. In spite of my fluctuating levels of motivation, 14 holes have now been completed finished and I might have something to show within the next month or two.
Spent the past week commencing and then working on the clubhouse, so I thought I'd post some progress images. This part of the design has been alot of fun.
NSWGC made a development application in 2015 to the local Council for approval for some internal renovations. The submission (available online) included a complete set of architectural documents including site plans, floor plans, elevation models, etc., of the existing clubhouse. I was able to create a texture of the floor plan, map it in APCD and then create the building right on top. In terms of dimensions, it might be the most accurate clubhouse ever built in the APCD - with windows, doors, balconies, of the main building all built exactly to spec.
The only diversions are due to APCD limitations (e.g. the round buildings) but they are minor anyway. The first image shown is basically a 3D rendition of the architectural plans.
Alot of the textures for the site (windows, doors, etc) are taken directly from the real site. Thanks to Google Earth, who even took me inside the building for a 3D tour. Amazing.
Still a fair way to go, but let me know what you think of it so far. There is an image of the real clubhouse above (its a funky building isnt it?).

Coming along nicely there Colin.
I look forward to this one being released.
I noticed another golf game has quite a few Australian courses, rather an unusual selection though.

Hi Colin,
It looks awesome so far. I appreciate that you are going to such a fine level of detail to make the course great. I'm sure if it is anywhere close to the level of your previous courses, it will be wonderful.

Superb!
Having the plans is lucky, putting that information into APCD and making it look so good, is hard work and a lot of skill.
