Well you guys answered my question. Thanks. Stuff like this gets me excited and then motivates me to learn and tackle stuff. I obviously don't have the skill set to take this on now, but maybe this would be a fun project for me to do without the use of a DEM in the future.

I do think the compromises that could be made for some of Collin's points would be to come up with signature holes that would look Ok with a certain panorama for example. Or holes that have similar elevations. I honestly don't think the textures would be a big deal because not having the fairways and bunkers look identical to their RL counterpart wouldn't take away from the playability of the hole unless certain textures have certain physics properties that I'm unaware of?
