The Golf Club at Black Rock Final

Post by Ian Wells »

Gentlemen,

The Golf Club at Black Rock has just been released. Thank you Andy.

The course was designed by Jim Engh and built in 2003 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, United States of America. The course is a private course with a par of 72 with the black tees stretching 7130 yards.

To quote Bill Satterfield who wrote the following  in his review of the course for Golf Course Gurus:

“.. what should you "expect" when visiting Black Rock? Expect to take your ball on an 18 hole "roller coaster ride" and have an experience rivaled by few courses in the country.”

I hope you find playing this APCD rendition of the course, equally as enjoyable.

Were there any notable changes from Beta to Final? Following the different threads, I didn't see any mention of any.

I've played 2 rounds of the beta in an event that pmgolf set up in his league. Loved it!

Thanks.

GoBucks,
The only change to the Beta was to the 12th green in the north east corner where five verts that were 0.2 Feet too low have been corrected.
Everything else is exactly the same, as there were no comments made.
I am happy that you enjoyed it.
Thank you.

I loved the course and the elevations, but I thought the par 5's were a bit too easy. Maybe that was me, though.

3Wood,
Thank you for enjoying the course.
I have no idea why there were no shadows. :dunno:
I have modified the Beta version, again, and saved a new Final V1.1.
I will send the new version to Andy this morning.
Sorry for the trouble.

Pete
Thank you for enjoying the course. You are probably correct about the par 5s being easy, but only if you can hit the ball straight.

Thanks guys.

Something interesting happened when playing round 4 of the World Tour tournament at Black Rock Beta: when playing Mc Fc conditions using RTS, I was able to play the slopes and hills on the greens with my approach shots and watch as the ball rolled from one side of the green to the other, or from the back to the front just like it would do IRL. Really cool!
