FMD, stick figure drawings my daughter used to create when she was 4 years old bear a closer resemblance to Rembrandt than what your pathetic efforts with the APCD do compared to the real course..... :tomato:

Actually, I would say that is pretty much spot on.... :clapping: Can't wait to see how you go when you start building all those houses that border the course...

OKAY, granted this database is 2 courses in one. I have most of the plot seam blended and some place holder trees planted. The course right now is only 47,000+ KB in size. The thing is it take 15-20 minutes to just "save" it and the same to do a Validate/Save. It's taking me longer to save it at decent intervals than it is to make the course....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see what it's like when I get further along...........................

What's up with that? :dunno:

Sage..... :cheers1:

Assuming it's a LIDAR Dem, have you gotten rid of any "extra" verts? (I know you probably have, but it doesn't hurt to ask!)

Does it have any seamblends that stretch over a very long area? You determined some years back that breaking long seamblends into smaller parts can help.

Thanks for the reminder Adelade. I'm modifying some blends now but none are particularly "long".
We will see.

Sage,
Although the single plot details two courses, I assume that you will be uploading two separate course files.
I know that seam blending increases the save time significantly, therefore would it not be better after you have planted the two courses, that you make the seam blends for each course just prior to their release?

I hope that makes some sense?

Ian

I wonder if everybody is aware that you can actually have 2 (maybe more), separate, 4096x4096 overlays on the same plot.

I created this one for better clarity. Because of the way this course is laid out, I was able to split it into 2, 4096 overlays. It's something to think about if you ever want more space and clarity for a plot overlay...

Not implying you should do it Sage. Your course just made me think about it, so I figured I'd pass it on. Thanks for the use of your post space.
