THE FUTURE OF PRIVATE COLF CLUBS

Post by Jimbo »

This is a report done by CBC News about 10 years ago-meaning that the "average age" has not grown any younger...as you can see some clubs are looking at alternative strategies".

Although the setting is the Cedar Brae Club in northeast Toronto, the Shaughnessy does get a bit of a mention...as well as a possible solution to its problem. The Point Grey Club is just east of Shaughnessy but not on Musqueam land (There's a Musqueam course next door to Shaughnessy). For Shaughnessy to build a new course the cost would be prohibitive-even for the well-heeded membership-to acquire land within a day's drive :naughty: of Vancouver.
