THE THREE WOOD

Post by Jimbo »

Is it just me or does the 3 wood tend to "hit the spot" perfectly with almost every shot? Sometimes (depending on the course) I find it more useful to leave the "Big Stick" in the locker.

What swing type? Certainly not true for me and my classic swing.

Depends on your level of play.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Exactly this! Try it on Champ Powerstroke and see how it goes. Game management skills learnt over years of playing at this level have taught me this. Sometimes 3 wood is the play, sometimes it's better to go 5 wood and leave a longer approach. Par is always a good score!

Hi guys:

My right hand doesn't work as well as it used to so I'm relegated to playing-Pro...still I find the 3 Wood "hits the spot" far more regularly at this level.
...and I've learned the hard and wet way that if you have more than a 250 yard approach on a Par 5 there'd better not be water anywhere the green!
It's better to take a club that you know & take a full swing or a flop. or "flopped".
