Thanks guys.
Ron, I called it Desperation Creek back in the day and that is what it will remain. It's a fictional course, sort of a dry, outback Australian course.
I had high hopes for it but lost my way and painted myself into so many corners through poor decisions I more or less gave up on it.
I tinkered with it on and off over the years and just want to finish it off. It will be a bare bones course and while not a great course, it has it's moments...

Some views of the first hole at Desperation Creek...fairly inoccuous start, driver or 3 wood followed by a wedge into the green...
One of my favourite holes, the par 5 3rd hole. Started life as a par 4, then, like so many holes on this course grew into something completely different.....lol
On the 12th tee......
Still so much to do....

I don't know if that is truly how that area of the world looks, but I really like the looks of the distressed ground coverage with a sparsity of trees - maybe a few more than shown.

Hi Pete, there is a bit of artistic license used. Mainly because I am limited by the colour and type of objects I have available. But in saying that, there are areas not far from me that look similar. Travelling further inland the sand would also have more of a red tinge to it.

The 7th, 8th and 10th holes. 12 down, 6 to go.....

This looks really quite good. There probably aren't any in Australia, but if you're looking for suitable vegetation, cacti would not look out of place on this course, unless it must look like an Australian course.
