Advance warning of disruption

Post by Andy »

Hi all.

I have to upgrade the forum software within the next few days and assuming that goes OK, I then need to switch the hosting platform to use PHP 8 instead of PHP 7 which is no longer supported.

The forum upgrade procedure renders the forum inaccessible to members whilst in progress.

The PHP switch may break other parts of the site and require me to modify some or all of the scripts that run the site. :bookh: :scared:

Keep your fingers crossed! :fcrossed:
I started off with nothing and I still have most of it left!

Well, the forum upgrade is complete and :fcrossed: seems to be OK.

If anyone finds any issues please let me know.

I will wait for the dust to settle before I move on to the next stage, the PHP version. :fear:

Hi Andy-I've been on the site for the last few days and didn't notice a thing.
Your "stealth upgrade" program is working! :clapping:

I think someone should make a comprehensive email list of all members so if anything should happen to the sight we can still keep in touch and distribute new courses......Thoughts....?????

Hope this doesn't offend anyone but a small donation I think would be appreciated.
