At least it is not me or the computer :)

For myself I turn off the players commentary, some of the expressions are quite grating to my ears. I generally do not use tournament commentaries either, although I do have them.

I do have the environment sounds on most of the time however. IRL I have played a lot of golf on my own, so these are the sort of sounds I am used to hearing during a round.

FWIW I have set up a sound file called solitude that provides some basic sounds.

Dwg,
Is this a sound script that all I have to do is plant in a central location and that is it?
If so I will use it on my next course.

It is a sound file I have told Links to use for normal play, I copied it to the Links program folder.

Whether it could be included in some way in a course I have no idea, one of the designers would be better placed to advise you.

Thanks, guys. I did that file (Solitude.ssf) many years ago. Those were the sounds I heard back when I was playing a practice round IRL. No commentary. Put the file in the /Links 2003/ folder.

Curiously I am finding Solitude is not working on some machines, tried UK tribute on the same ones and it is fine. Bit of a head scratcher.

Pete,
I have included the file (Solitude.zip) in the sound files download section here at LinksCorner.org.
Will you please give a link?

Ian

I already put this link in my post a couple back from this one. I tried, unsuccessfully, to not disrupt this thread.

Ian-the clubhouse is dramatically accurate but what I noticed (and appreciated) was the extra effort given to letting us know that this is a course that is surrounded by a neighbourhood of (very expensive) houses. It's literally "across the street from Winged Foot. Anyway that's a detail that is often either overlooked or just left out of many courses-it looks as if there's a "rich neighbourhood" planting feature somewhere in APCD and if not, there should be...I seem to remember something similar on other courses. I don't know how long it takes to do that planting but Golf Pass shows "the neighbourhood". An extremely nice touch and a course that looked like it was "lifted" from the club website-or the NBC Golf Pass site. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :cheers1: :cheers1: :cheers1:

Pete,
Thank you, but the link gives the following error message:
This link isn't quite right
Usually this happens when the link wasn't copied exactly right.
Jimbo,
Thank you for your comments, they are very much appreciated.
