Des,
A lot of luck with the approach shots landing the right side of the pins and the par putts dropping.

Thomas, I agree with you that the S(C) setting seemed very slow, which surprised me.

I debated the wisdom of being one of the early ones to play vs. one of the last, given that exciting, clutch putt made by Matty to win the Truist. And I decided I would have choked like a dog and there was no reason to change my approach.

67. 31 strokes on the front. Trying to keep my head above water on the back. It took two miraculous par putts to keep a decent score. The one on 18 was just rear back and hope for the best.

Ian, I commend you for your 34 on the back. (Not to minimize your overall excellent score.)

This is more a FYI.

I have found with the green analyzer that on my notebook with Intel GPU and DDrawCompat wrapper it will often lock links up to the point that Links has to be killed, Links can be restarted and works fine. The analyzer however seems to work fine on my Desktop with an Nvidia HBA and no wrapper. I am trying everything to get an idea of the green breaks on some of these courses.

Adding an Nvidia HBA seems to have been a good move on the desktop system.

Guess I need more putting practice and an injection of luck, that last bit could be hard to come by :)

Des, I only use the wrapper and the green analyzer does not work with it, with the same effect you describe.

Doug,

I have had quite a few problems with dgVoodoo, but very few with DDrawCompat, a couple I have had I have been able to configure my way around them. Hard to identify possible fixes with something that locks up.

Des,

There are about 8 pages (could be exaggerated) devoted to my struggle to get Links working with Windows 11 on my Dell desktop in the Tech forum a few years ago. I am utterly useless dealing with tech issues and when someone finally got me hooked up with the wrapper and it worked, I stopped looking for anything else to avoid going through further pain.

Doug,

I worked in the industry and have used most things from mainframes through to P.C's so have worked my way around a computer or three.

I have had Links running on Windows 10 and now on Windows 11 and Linux. My pig headed stubbornness generally means I do not like to give up on getting things working.

I did use dgVoodoo on my notebook and initially desktop Windows systems with Intel integrated GPUs, but added the Nvidia HBA to the desktop as a better long term solution. Early this year when the upgrade to DDrawCompat came out I tried it on my notebook and was very happy with the results, so moved to it as the preferred wrapper.

FWIW the wrapper is of no use on Linux and the integrated Intel GPUs on the systems outperform the NVidia GPUs by a big margin with Links, the drivers are not great.
