Might be making my way to Augusta early as I struggled off the tee in round 2, double bogeys on 4 and 9 with a bogey on 8 to go out in 41. Back 9 not much better as I made bogeys at 13 and 14 before finally making birdies at 15 and 16 to come back in 36 for a 5 over par 77. Struggled with the wind missing greens and fairways but kept the ball dry all day long.

Heck of a ride; a "routine" 71 with two birdies and one bogie, and a very suspicious "miss" for birdie on 14.
Couldn't figure out the wind on many approaches. It was a round that could have been a bit better and certainly somewhat worse; made some decent par saves.
Sorry, no sound for the video. I just can't get it to work on this machine on any kind of consistent basis.

Re: Links PGA Tour 2026 - Valero Texas Open
2nd Round was a +3 for me.
Held it together pretty well until the last 2 holes but finished bogie, double. Club selection and distance control (RTS) proved challenging. The key seemed to keep the ball in play.
Found I was aiming for a lot of trees and bunkers off the tee but kept it in play fairly well, a mixture of bogies and birdies through the round, but really came unstuck on the last, a bad slice into the rough off the tee, next shot near the rocks which I then managed to bounce a shot back down the fairway from. Lost concentration off the tee there and paid for it.
A rather disappointing end to what look to be a more solid round under difficult conditions.

Clearly needing the practice, after missing yet another cut. I went out for a round before the field even got out of bed, mind you it is late afternoon where I am.
I shot a -1, 71, and was a lot happier with the result, it was much more consistent. Driving I am pretty happy with, although, clearly must concentrate, club head path is critical.
Putting is improving. I am making use of the green analyser, and am using positioning on the shoe to gauge the putter swing length, better but work still needed especially on side hill putts as they remain a notable challenge.
Distance control on anything less than a full swing with RTS is still a bit hit and miss, some shots too long some too short. It results in a lot of chipping practice.

Re: Links PGA Tour 2026 - Valero Texas Open
Even though I missed the cut I played the conditions for the 3rd round and had better results than the first 3 times I played TPC San Antonio. Started out with 7 pars, missing a 4.8 foot birdie putt at #5, 10 foot birdie putt at #8 to go out in 35. Back nine started with a par and then birdies at 11 and 12 with more birdies at 15 and 17 to come in in just 32 shots for a 5 under 67! And bogey-free to boot! 11 fairways, 13 greens, 26 putts would have been nice to have scored better on Friday and made the cut!

Shot a 66 and have no clue how. 42% fairways and 50% greens. Two chip-ins helped, as did a couple of testers for par. Even burned the edge on a few birdie putts.
Dumb luck, I guess.
No sound again. Sorry, but my tech know-how is just too limited to fix it.

I normally only grant gimmies within two inches, but in this case, I'll agree to give it you.

Too generous Doug :)
I have them turned off.
Went out again (glutton for punishment) shot a 71, -1. Four words describe my round, short, long, left or right. Lots of chipping so really did not give myself many opportunities. 2 birdies, 1 bogey was the result. Apart from the second round it was a much more consistent week.
The keyboard shortcut I have (that is now "had") for the Green Analyzer caused my system to hang, but could restart where I left of, further testing in practice mode got the same result, that shortcut has been cut from my list! Not sure where it came from I cannot find any references, my list is quite old.
On a better note I have enjoyed playing this course, in general it plays well with most challenging settings
