I own HB studios The Golf Club and The Golf Club 2. Although it's exciting to see this, I'm hoping HB has made enough improvements and added missing components to make this a real winner. The trailer is interesting but I don't get that wow factor yet. The disappointing thing so far, is the golf swing and player models are still not great, which is something you would expect with today's technology.

I read that it will have a course architect feature in it, allowing players to design courses. Be interesting to see where that goes.

The course designer is key. If Links had a fixed course load of even the 2k3 Microsoft course quality, it would have died out a long, long, long time ago. Community designers took it to a whole new level. Will be interesting to see how good this designer is though; I tried The Golf Club 2's designer and was thoroughly disappointed.

You OWN the studio that produces TGC & TGC2? wow, very cool, would love to pick your brain on the new modeling engines that run them. The APCD is so old and archaic, it does a surprisingly good job though still. It's the player animations I can't stand in Links.

It seems to me that I recall very realistic ani's in an early version of Links. Not being a designer, I never understood why they could not be carried forward. Perhaps someone can explain. :dunno:

Early versions were flat 2d photographs basically. Looked real but didn't have depth. 2003 (forget if 2001 did or not) has 3-dimensional models. This tech was "early" in 2003, so the models don't look great relative certainly to what you can see from 3d models today.
