I took another look at Green Bay.

I like how some of the runners from the fairway are growing into the green, quite realistic, I see that here in real life.

Depending on where the ball ends up in this "space" though it can show as either green or fairway. I would expect it to play more like green given it would have been cut low, perhaps it needs its own texture name.

Hi Des,
I'm not sure just what you are referring to. Can you screen shot for me pointing out the "space"?

Hi Sage,

I think I have a couple of shots that show it. To put it in words I see an area between the pure fairway texture and the pure green texture that is a bit of a mix of the two.

I have moved the ball along what I would see as the area between these two textures, where some fairway runners intrude into the green. I have come across some places where it seems to depend the look of the grass I place the ball on as to what Links thinks the lie is.

This first shot shows Links has decided this is fairway and a chip shot is selected

This one however shows a putt

Hi Des,
I got you.
Would those 2 positions be a typical lie having to decide chip or put depending on the type of grass you are on?
I think it's going to be OK.

Sage,

Fairly typical I think, I have seen it on many holes through this course.

I would think the greenkeeper would reckon it should be a putt :) So it would be mora a visual effect.

I know I'm late to the party, but I was playing a practice round on the final release and ran into an issue. I tried to upload the saved shot, but the site wouldn't let me.
I was playing #17, hit my tee shot towards the right side of the end of fairway and was in what was deemed rocks, but looked like rough. Moved the marker a bit right and it said rough, a bit left of the ball was fairway. I wish I could upload the saved shot, but the site apparently doesn't like the ".sht" extension.

If I get a chance, I'll try to check other fairway/rough transitions, but I suspect that this wasn't just a one-off.

Edit: Seems to be a pretty common issue with rough/fairway transitions. Hate to be the bearer of problems after the release of a final.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Hi GoBucks,
I can not find a "rock" texture anywhere near where you describe.

Maybe play it again and find the area of rock and do a screen shot showing "rock" with the direction indicator.

I'll take a look and fix it. Then release a new one.
