I want to thank Linkster for getting back to me on this subject of Royal Birkdale. This is how it went ...
I've talked with Linkster and YES he is working on an updated Royal Birkdale but wish he did an either/or on Shinnecock as doing both courses have eaten up a lot of time.
Linkster said "I'll need as much time as possible to get the bunkers and greens seam blended and some basic forest planting done. I will upload what I have Sunday evening and then you can make the decision to use it or not for your tournament."
I've let him know that "I loved your work on Shinnecock and would never want you to release anything your not comfortable with. These courses are works of art and I wouldn't want them rushed."
"Playing the current simplified 1.5 today, that course is more than enough for our little get together next week. I liked the idea of concentrating on the bunkers and greens as this is where we will be spending most of our time lol."
I added "Release it if it feels right and good luck in all your endeavors. Peace my brother"
So Keep an eye out for a new course come Sunday/Monday if it feels right but you can use the Simplified 1.5 for practice until then.
