Round 2 was interrupted by computer issues and then a thunderstorm in Michigan, when i tried to play this afternoon something happened to my display settings in Links, disabling my overhead cameras, went away from the game after a par on the first hole. Restarted the computer, looked at the display settings in Links and saw that it was set to 16 bit, switched it to 32 bit and it was just fine, made it through the front nine, made birdie at #2 with a bogey at #3 and from the sand at #7 to go out in 36 shots. Had to move away from the game after the 9th hole, thunderstorms blew in, power blinked out and restarted the computer after dinner and finally got back to it at 11:00 pm, unfortunately I looked at the results of the 2nd round and saw that the cut was at -3. Set out on my second nine with this in the back of my mind, chipped in for par after coming up short of the green and chipping just to the edge of the green, made bogey at #11 from over the green, made birdie at #12, 3 putt bogey from 30 feet at #14, tried to fade my drive at the par 5 17th, hooked it into the trees, 2 punch shots finally got me to the deep rough still 160 yards from the pin, knocked my approach to 45 feet, just missed the par putt to make another bogey, missed the fairway at #18, hit 8 iron that rolled through to the back of the green, missed 33 foot birdie putt and settled for par, came back in in 38 shots, 36-38=74 -2 for the tournament, just outside the cutline. 9 fairways, 8 greens, 27 putts. A little bit loose on too many shots and missed too many greens which cost me in the end.

Jim, my "honorary" third round was nowhere near as colourful as yours.
I replaced my usual practice round with 30 minutes practice on my short game and it helped a little.
Birdied 4, 6, 7, and 14, with a bogie on 8. (The bogie on 8 should have been a birdie.
) An altogether more enjoyable round of golf with plenty of room for improvement.
My round was 33/35 for a 68.

Making the cut: 1st prize is getting to continue playing; 2nd prize is having to play two more rounds.
No pars through the first six holes: birdie, birdie, bogey, birdie, bogey, birdie. Ended up with a 33-35 68, just like Ian. The Travelers made me a spoiled brat, if an old one.

Another one of those days, played some good shots but the putter was stone cold, left some putts a couple of inches short some a couple of inches to the side.
I was too fond of giving strokes back so while I bagged 4 birdies they were offset by 2 bogies.
I found the breaks on the greens challenging, as I was also leaving some long putts. I certainly do not have the feel for these greens.
The result was a 2 under 69. Not a bad round but it is not going to challenge anyone.

Other than the brilliant par save on fourteen there was nothing really happening. Just an unexciting round. https://youtu.be/LCLQO1Bbib0

Pretty much ho-hum round today ... lipped out a couple of times, hit the pin but didn't go in on a chip on #14, but also missed a couple of greens
badly ... definitely left a few out there today, but still could've been worse! Gonna need a great final round
Duh!!! sorry 33-35 ... 68

Re: Links PGA Tour 2026 - John Deere Classic
Played 3rd round conditions even though I missed the cut, agree with SCG the front nine can be got but the back nine was hanging on made innumerable par putts to keep round going. First 2 holes, 2 birdies doesn't get much better than that! followed with 3 putt bogey from 47 feet, birdie at #7 and bogey at #9 to go out in 34, back nine went easy enough, nothing but pars, 2 makeable birdie putts at #16 and #17 to come back in in 36 shots for34-36=70 1 under par; 10 fairways, 14 greens, 30 putts. Did better today not trying to muscle the course especially on the back nine and hit more greens and fairways, that rotten short par 4 #15 keeps vexing me, will lay up tomorrow and see if I can get a wedge close from the fairway I hope!
