I have played an initial practice round. I found the scoring to be harder than River Highlands so far.

Some of the par threes are a difficult distance for me.

There are a couple of clubs that Links tells me that are good for X metres, but in play seems it should be Y meters, I am actually hitting them further and have not worked out the actual average distance yet and how much I need to lay up, this affects the long par 3s.

In real life golf I have dispensed with the Long irons and am using a 5 wood and a 3 hybrid (I do have a 7 wood as well from before a matching hybrid came out), given no hybrids in Links I am looking at the 6 & 7 woods. I use a lob edge in real life but in Links I do not find it of great use so have left it out of the bag. The 6 & 7 woods in Links are the ones with the errant distance.

After seeing your practice round and playing one myself, I think I'm just going to fly over to the UK and get ready for the Open. :fear:

I played another practice round and did considerably better.

Distance control looks like it could be a real key on this course and today I had it, I have also been fiddly with my bag composition as well, swapped out a wood for a long iron, perhaps my Links club composition should be very different from my real golf bag.

I also played another practice round and feel somewhat better now. I rescheduled my flight to the UK (and just jinxed myself.)

My practice round https://youtu.be/r19wkH69rFk I struggled with the green speed. Seems the MC/FC plays faster on this course than River Highlands. Am I right or is it all in my head? :wallbash:

you might be seeing more roll because we were playing FC/MC = bigger bounce less roll as opposed to MC/FC = med type bounce max roll. That's my story and I'm sticking to it :cheers1:
