Welcome to the "Links PGA Tour" where we simulate the conditions of the PGA Tour. **We select the green speed and Pin positions with the courses we have in the data base, to give you the feel of playing along side the Pro's. ** All holes are played from the back tees.
I played a practice round at mc/fc. Some of the greens are absolutely treacherous, if the ball didn't go in I often three putted, it seemed next to impossible to even cosy the ball up near the hole. The only time you seemed to get a break was if you were lucky enough to get a putt straight up hill, a straight down hill putt was no guarantee.
I shot a 76 and that even included pitching on one hole.
Umm Links play to a par of 72, the course is now a par 71 so we add one stroke, sounds like we are going the wrong way there.

A diificult first round, as expected the greens provide the courses defences, The slopes can be quite a challenge.
I found myself playing from the fringe often, to take the slopes out of play as much as possible I swapped the chip shot for the pitch, mostly successful but still very little room for error. The course punishes any shot that is not close to perfect.
There are no real gimme holes and many holes where it is easy to drop a shot. My score reflected it with a 73, I felt if I could keep it around par I would be doing well, 5 bogies attest to how easy it is to drop shots and only 4 birdies how hard it is to pick shots up, it often took a great pitch or putt to get a birdie, and even at times to get a par.

Thank you Des for the comment. It bounced around in my head for a few days till it FINALLY hit me when I was writing up my first round results earlier. So I have an UPDATE to the Scorecard Adjustments...
Look it over and let me know if I got it right this time Thanks
