Links PGA Tour 2026 - RBC Heritage

Welcome to the "Links PGA Tour" where we simulate the conditions of the PGA Tour. **We select the green speed and Pin positions with the courses we have in the data base, to give you the feel of playing along side the Pro's. ** All holes are played from the back tees.

What type of swing do you play with and at what level? I also wanted to ask you if you ever watched the "Lessons" portion of the game. It can be very informative.
I play Classic swing type at Pro level. I am sure I watched the lessons when I first got the game but that was 26 years ago.
I will try and find time to take a look in the next two weeks. My main problem is that I haven't played a round of links golf for 6-8 years. When testing the courses I build I use the practice mode of play which gives me the option of placing the ball anywhere I want to look at. The accuracy of the shots and putts is almost meaningless.
By playing in this group I hope to eventually improve. I have taken the advice of Des and spend some time practicing putting and chipping before I start my round, and that has helped.

[My main enjoyment(?) is APCD so I will only play during each tournament.]

Thanks for the work you for each tournament. :tiphat:

I have found on my return to Links I initially did a lot of work getting the software to run on various systems and then testing courses on said systems. I have started doing some course beta testing as well, I also beta test a finance program and participate in its support.

I started playing in SCGs (in my neck of the woods that stands for Sydney Cricket Ground) play along series as I am not all that competitive against others, it is about improving myself and playing against the course, much like the real game and found this suited that objective, selecting the pins and playing to different conditions has also helped.

I find with RTS that at the Amateur level is one place I get some reference points I can use as a starting position, it is a little easier using that than looking at the backswing length. The points are rarely right in themselves. Perhaps I can dispense with them in due course. The breaks in Links I do have trouble seeing, hence my dislike of side hill putts.

I should also sack the caddie.

Thank you Ian.Yeah my ignorance thinking a designer must also play at a high level. Like you said in practice mode, results are meaningless, It's all about reaction. Oh, and I do enjoy your designing talents. I really enjoyed your work on Pasatiempo (Santa Cruz just down the street 35 miles) and The Golf Club at Black Rock among others. It's taken me about a year to get back to simi form. I was at Champ level but that's too much work(only get by at level par).
