Kudos on the Wakonda Club!

Post by 1PuttJeff »

I just finished playing all 18 holes of the Wakonda Club and it is instantly one of my favorite Links courses. It was designed by Dan DeShaney for Links and he did a great job with re-creating this real course in the State of Iowa in the U.S. I especially love the course layout, as it has many rolling hills and it reminded me of playing public courses many years ago in Western Pennsylvania where I lived at one time. Dan also did a great job with the bridges on the back nine as it must have taken him many hours to create those and the water textures were also very well-done. I also like how the course is situated in a neighborhood setting as some fairways on the front nine holes are very close to houses and roads. I would highly recommended anyone download this course as you will not be disappointed!

Thanks very much Jeff. It's always great to hear from the players about the courses we do. It gives us encouragement and also lets us know what areas need attention. Also thanks for the comments about the bridges. Believe it or not, making those top railings took almost as long as making an entire bridge. Thanks again for the great review. I'm glad Wakonda made it into your list of favorites. :tiphat:

Cheers, :cheers1:

Dan,

Yes, I really enjoyed playing the Wakonda Golf Club for LInks that you designed and I know that I will be playing the course many times in the future!
Also, it was interesting to know that the bridge railings took so much time to create. I tend to favor the "real" courses over the fantasy ones for Links and I will look forward to playing more of your courses in the future. :clapping:
