I shouldn't say anything because this will likely make work for me but ...

I generate green slope and contour maps in QGIS for use in the APCD that greatly helps the placement of pins. I do this for courses I have a serious look at and a couple other designers want the green maps to go with their DEM requests.

The green maps can be made into a texture and then mapped in APCD to align with the correct verts in the unaltered DEM import. More verts can be added for enhanced green elevation details and pins can be planted in the grey areas (0-2% slope), and blue (2-3%). Sometimes I plant pins in the green (3-4%) or yellow (4-5%) areas with caution. For a reference, the breakline indicator shows full yellow at 10% slope and half yellow at 5% slope.
