Are the 47 Links Courses from Microsoft All in .CRZ?

Post by MrBill »

I've been a Links 2003 player off and on for years on my old computers and I believe I have every course available from Microsoft on the original CD's. Recently got a new computer and have Links 2003 up and running on Windows 10 with no problems, so it seems. Rather than go through the loading of each curse from a CD, I would like to just buy the 47 courses from this website, which seems a whole lot easier. I would like to know if the 47 courses are in .CRZ format rather than having to load the older courses and convert some of them.

Thanks for looking,

Bill

Yes, they are crzs (per purchase in 2017). Some of them also contain the Links 2000 versions. They were at the time .exes that you could point to a directory and unzip; or just use 7zip or similar to open the .exe as an archive and just drag out wherever you want.

Hopefully you'll also avail yourself of the numerous superior courses by the best architects at Links Corner.

MrBill, everybody has their own list of favorite courses. Some of those 47 can't be found anywhere else.
No matter where you go, there you are.

As I see it there are 47 separate courses available for less than $15 at most when courses by themselves in older additions of Links went for about $20 for each one released. Some of these MS courses have not been redone, so they are interesting to have. https://www.linkscountryclub.com/courses

Pete,

Thanks so much for your recommendations. I downloaded a few and they are incredible to play - far above the Microsoft courses, as you said. Again, thanks for taking the time to prepare your list.
