this happened to me recently cannot see others clubs online with clubs that came with links 2003
all anis are fine
even specialised clubs are fine
i cant find them in any files in game when others use the game supplied clubs
any ideas
dont want hassle of buying and reinstall with all the bs that goes with it

Can you make a player yourself, one that is using the standard clubs? Im guessing they wouldnt show up then either?

I recommend at least having a look in your Links 2003\PolyAni folder, or the Links 2003\PolyAni\clubs folder. I think it would be the clubs.l3 file that governs the standard clubs? Perhaps yours got corrupted in some sense, and replacing it would solve it? Mine says last modified 2006 so I assume it is only the standard clubs, I uploaded it here https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ueep4crkylzxxc/clubs.l3?dl=0 , try replacing yours with it, though I recommend making a backup of yours just in case.

You need a Clubs.l3 (that's .L3) in your /Polyani/ folder, and also one in your /Clubs/ folder (which is inside your /Polyani/ folder).

jorson2, It's not zipped! That is the file you're looking for - my post told you where to put it - /PolyAni/ folder and /Clubs/ folder. You aren't supposed to open it. It is the file!

game still says clubs not installed

its just the default clubs that came with game that seem to be issue

Look to see if you have a PolyAni folder in somewhere similar to this (you may have to unhide some folders to get there):

C:\Users\[name of your computer]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Links 2003\PolyAni. If you do, and there is no clubs.l3 file in that location, place one there and see if that helps.

I'm having a hard time understanding what your problem is. You may think that everyone has all these error messages memorized, but we don't. Let's see if I can pry some words out of you. You "cannot see others clubs online with clubs that came with links 2003". When you play a practice round, can you see your own clubs? Do you know where you go to change the clubs that your animation is using?

"i cant find them in any files in game when others use the game supplied clubs" I barely understand this, and I suspect we're getting close to the place where you get the error message - which I'm having a h--- of a time guessing about, like: A. Exactly what is happening when you get the message? B. Exactly what does the message say?
Questions:
1. Who are these "others"?
a. Fictitious players I'm playing against when playing a game alone.
b. Computer players I'm playing against when playing the game alone.
c. Players I'm playing against online. (directly connected to someone or the "Game Ranger" site?)
d. Are you playing against someone who's using alien supplied clubs?

If it is "C", how do you know what clubs they are using?

If you can't find them then you must have a name for these clubs. Would you mind sharing that name with me?
