Windows 95

Post by Paul44 »

Windows 95 was released a full quarter century ago today, on August 24th, 1995. Long gone, nearly forgotten?

I had the very first version of Windows on a 3" floppy, it was little more than a shell with DOS underneath it. Wish I'd kept it, it might have been.. a good coffee cup coaster.

My first version was Windows 2, but Windows 95 and Windows XP were brilliant systems.
My first version of Windows 3 came on both types of floppy disc, I added 3.5 drive as more software came out on this size and much more child friendly than 5 ¼ discs.
