Links 2003 low reolution

Post by jacco123 »

I installing links 2003 on acer aspire 7520G with amd quad core processor A6-3420M .
Graphics are amd radeon hd 6520G + 7640M with 1 GB Vram.
The game runs only a resolution of 1280x768 and lower on windows 10.
My screen is build with 1600x900 .
I have installing all patches and change the registry but no higher resolution than 1280x768 32 bits.
I deleted this game from the harddisk because it is not properly designed for modern systems.
What is the best system to run this game with higher resolutions?
Name of videocarts plz?
Name of processor ?
I Thinks that this is a crap game and is programmed very badly.

Links works on most systems with enough tinkering so I personally have no recommendations for anything specific. However one thing comes to my mind - have you made sure the game is actually running at 1280x768 or if the game merely says so? I have helped someone with this same problem. In that case, I told him to apply (ie. run) the Links nVidia patch - regardless of which video card you have. It gives you widescreen resolutions.

Reinstall Links, and run the 1.07 patch.
Then, the nVidia patch can be found here: http://linkscoursefiles.co.uk/patches/L ... _FINAL.exe

I have Windows 10 Pro, AMD processor and nVidia GTX 1050 Ti video. The game runs great at 1650 x 1050 on my 23 inch widescreen. Please post your results.

Dont work with widescreen on my laptop with nvidia patch and patch 107 final.
Max resolution is 1280x768.
This game does not work with the amd cpu A6 3420M with amd radeon HD 6520G + 7470M with 1 gb VRAM.
Dont understand why there is no widescreen resolution.
If i use regedit and use 11 for the resolution then the game says ''The minimum screen resolution required by Links is 800x600.the current resolution is less than this.Links will now exit''
I can play the game only with low resolutions .The max is 1280x768.
This game is not made for modern computers.

I'm not going to argue with you about it. You've made your decision.

It was released in 2002 so no, widescreen wasn’t all the rage back then. The widescreen resolutions are more a user hack then anything else. Setting 11 in the registry should “theoretically” work for you. As it doesn’t, 1280x768 may be the most you can play it at or use another monitor.
