dgVoodoo DirectX Wrapper

Post by brooks2345 »

Hi All

I have got a new computer (windows 10) (Links 2003) (dgVoodoo DirecrX Wrapper) and as it's the end of the (real) golf season, I thought I might get back to a bit of course design.

Only problem is that I can't seem to get my graphics exactly right to fit my screen so I've therefore rejected the full screen option and gone instead for a window. I've tried all kinds of combinations (i.e. 1280 x 1080 32 bit with window) but only get a small window - and every time a try to increase its size, the screen defaults back to full screen mode. so I get a really skinny Sergio!

I've looked at all 34 previous posts where dgVoodoo is mentioned, but no joy.

So what's the correct combination for my system?

Cheers :helpsmilie:

I use 1680 x 1050 32 bit - registry setting 11 (full screen)

Registry settings for specific resolutions:
15 - 1920 x 1200 (thanks, langle!)
14 - 1920 x 1080 (thank, Mick!)
13 - 1808 x 1008
12 - 1680 x 1050 *
11 - 1440 x 900
10 - 1366 x 768 **
9 - 1360 x 768 **
8 - 1280 x 960 **
7 - 1280 x 800
6 - 1280 x 768 **
5 - 1280 x 720
4 - 1600 x 1200 ***
3 - 1280 x 1024 ****
2 - 1024 x 768 ****
1 - 800 x 600 ****

* This only works on my computer in Full Screen Mode
** This only works in Windowed Mode on my computer
*** I know this value from my desktop computer
**** These are the original values from 1.05

The registry change won't stay unless you run REGEDIT with elevated administrative privileges (in Vista or Win7). Find the REGEDIT.EXE and right click on it and select Properties. Choose the compatibility tab and ensure there is a check next to "Run as Administrator". Close the properties window and double-click on REGEDIT and make the change again. Your Links should then be set to 1440x900 (or whatever resolution your display mode is set to).

go to start, run, regedit.

Just curious, Pete. What's the native resolution of your monitor?
No matter where you go, there you are.

To be honest, Dave, I don't know. It's a Samsung Monitor/HDTV (23"), and in Display Settings it shows the "recommended" setting as 1680 x 1050, which fills my screen. Is there any other way to tell? :dunno:

Nvidia control panel, but native and recommended are the same thing.

Thanks.

"it shows the "recommended" setting as 1680 x 1050"....very unlikely that's the recommended setting...

Very unlikely, eh? You "know" this, do you? So either you know what you're talking about - or you just feel like jerking somebody's chain - right? So how do you know the monitor's settings without any technical specs at all?
