16gb is more than enough, I don't know how old Stephens computer is or how much memory he has but the APCD has always been a resource hog. I am just stating that by restarting a program you may not be solving a problem. Depending on your computer and it's age rebooting is always the best way to clean out your memory.
I have been off work and am working on the APCD almost from the time I get up until I go to bed so I reboot my laptop around 4 times a day.
