Help with using shape create.

I am giving Paul Seaman"s tutorial a try. I have found
that some things are quite different from how i do them.
Nevertheless, i created a green very easily. Then i went to
do the fairway an ran into an issue. As i am clicking on the
little white markers in the top(xy) viewport i run out of
room. So i need to take the hand an move the viewport.
But it wont let me use any of the tools. So, what am i doing wrong?

Not completely sure I understand the issue correctly, but a good way of moving the viewpoint without having to switch to the Pan tool (hand symbol) is to press down on the mouse wheel and dragging (assuming you have a mouse with a mousewheel that can be pressed down)

Yeah, I'm not clear on your issue either. You can use shift - left click to add more control points on a shape or use Ctrl - left click to break the shape completely.

You can also use shift- left click to drag just one side of the control point.

Thanks guys. Sorry i could not explain it better.
I think i will continue just drawing a shape or use the
painter. Also, i do not understand the control points.
When you get done an connect the last one to the
first one all you have is a shape. ???

I understand what you are trying to explain. What you need to do is after you have gotten to the point where you’re out of room right click, this will not complete the shape but will leave the shape you have already made. It will not be a solid line (shape) but will be more of a broken line. Hope this is what you’re looking for.
