Just skimming through this, you could just share a full APCD program with all the extras already installed into it?
Including APCD adds around 300mb to the download.

Otherwise, a zip could be created and all the downloader does is let it overwrite everything when asked.

Seems like one of these methods would be easiest to me with what you guys appear to be trying to do.

Still,

That sounds logical...............

Derrick would you be willing to try zipping up your APCD directory and posting it. I will gladly give this method a try.

Thanks to all..................

True, you could just share the whole APCD folder if volume is a non-issue, I just see no reason to bother transferring the irrelevant files.

The user.lib file could of course also count as relevant in a different sense not mentioned in this topic.
Finished Courses - Main: Amedal (fictional), Nine Bridges (real)
Other: Austin, Sheshan, Kauri Cliffs, Le Golf Nat. Updates: Whirlpool, Royal Lytham, Royal St George's, Chicago, Chambers Bay, Munchen Nord E
Working on: 2 fictional courses + a couple things...

:dunno: Hi Sage and Adalade
I am not sure if trying to upload the APCD is a good idea ?
When you create your own Planting Set it creates a lot of files
TGAs - btx - pst - Object Folders - Object Labrary
I would strongly recommend that you make one from scratch
That way you know what you are creating, by using one that
as been done by someone else could be giving you a lot of
objects that you dont like.or would never use.
I find that when I start planting there are quite a number of
objects that are corrupt and not fit to use, also I end up with
a number of duplicate objects. This does not cause you any
problems as they have a different number when you use them
I have imported objects from what I class as top line courses
and still end up with a lot of objects doing strange things when
they are planted. Sometimes they look O.K in the APCD but
when played in Links to test the course problems crop up like
strange patterns showing up in blocks or plants in mid air
The method I have set out is a bit slow to start with as you
need to create the list with all the objects in the order that
you want them in. When you create a New Type to start it will
show in alphabetical order in the list, but in the planting list
that you are creating it will show up in the order it was made
so you will end up with objects that are not easy to select
thats why I put the word Trees or Flowers before the type.
I hope this explains things as I would not like to pass on rubbish
Derrick
